Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026
In one line: we store your account details and your resume scores so you can track progress — we never store the resume file itself. It's processed in memory and deleted the moment scoring finishes.

1. Who we are

Resumetra ("we", "us", "our") operates www.resumetra.com, a resume-building and ATS (Applicant Tracking System) score-checking service for job seekers in India. This policy explains what data we collect through the site, why, and what control you have over it.

2. What we collect

DataWhenWhy
Full name, email address, password (stored as an irreversible hash, never in plain text)When you create an accountTo let you log in and keep your score history tied to you
Your ATS score, a short snippet (up to 300 characters) of the job description you pasted, the score breakdown, and the detailed findingsEvery time you check a resumeTo show you "My Score History" and let you track whether edits are actually improving your score
Your IP address (temporarily, not linked to your account)Every requestAnti-abuse rate limiting only — to stop the checker being spammed by bots. Not stored long-term or tied to your profile.
Your resume file (PDF/DOCX/DOC/RTF/TXT)When you upload it to check your scoreRead into memory just long enough to extract text and compute your score, then immediately deleted. It is never written to a database or kept on disk beyond the single request.

3. What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not send your resume content to any third-party AI service for scoring — the ATS score is computed by our own rule-based engine, running entirely on our own server.
  • We do not store your resume file. If you want a copy, keep the original you uploaded from — we only ever see it for the seconds it takes to score it.
  • We do not use your data to train any AI model.

4. Cookies & sessions

We use a single essential session cookie to keep you logged in after you sign in. It contains no tracking information and is not used for advertising. It's deleted when you log out or when your browser session ends. We don't currently use analytics or advertising cookies.

5. How long we keep your data

Your account and score history are kept for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your name, email, password hash, and all score history within a reasonable time. Resume files are never kept in the first place, so there's nothing to delete there.

6. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act, 2023) and generally as good practice, you have the right to:

  • Access — ask what data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your account and all associated data.
  • Withdraw consent — stop using the service at any time; simply don't log back in, or ask us to delete your account.

To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed with a strong, industry-standard algorithm (bcrypt) and are never stored or logged in plain text. All data is stored on our hosting provider's servers in India. As with any online service, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your data.

8. Children's privacy

Resumetra is intended for job seekers and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Resumetra after a change means you accept the updated policy.
